The beatitudes enshrined in the scripture are the Lord’s ethical code of conduct for the believers. They are powerful scriptural principles that enunciate the proper and acceptable Christian lifestyle that every child of God must vigorously pursue, imitate and imbibe.  In all its ramifications, the beatitudes contrasts with the secular values of the world (1 John 2:15-17). The beatitudes are at cross purposes with earthly standards and values.

There are people who come to church because it is the most fashionable, social or religious thing to do on a Sunday morning. While the Word is been preached, the devil steals it away from their hearts before their spirits reach the point where the Word can be digested and utilized. Lacking spiritual understanding, the brethren may remain tied to the same spot spiritually. Eventually, he will wither and die for lack of spiritual nutrition.

Life in its totality is governed by the laws of nature, and they are universal in their application. For an airplane to conquer the sky, it must operate by the law of aeronautics. If you put a fish out of water, which is its natural element, it would die gradually with time. For man, who is created in the image of God to live a fruitful and successful life (Gen.1:28), he has to abide and operate by the spiritual laws of God as enshrined in the Bible (Luke.4:4).
