The highest form of gratitude is expressed through praise. This is why William James, one of America’s frontline, top-notched psychologists remarked that ‘the desire to be appreciated is one of the greatest drives of a human being”. Ingratitude is an act of wickedness that must not be tolerated in the life of a Christian. On the other hand, feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like “wrapping a present and not giving it”

Praise is a key that unlocks heaven’s gate. When the praise goes up, the blessings come down. Praise is an indispensible kingdom principle that leads to comprehensive wholeness. Don’t ignore or disdain God’s daily blessings of provisions, protection, blessing, love and mercies on your life! Give Him the praise for your daily blessings, whether they are at the infinitesimal or colossal scale. Out of the ten lepers that the Lord healed, only the Samaritan came back to say “thank you, Lord”.

God gave humanity the best of all gifts over 2000 years ago (John.3:16). Therefore, every man has something to give back to God, not just as an expression of gratitude for been translated from death to life, but as a deliberate intention to further the kingdom of God.

Why does the scripture admonish Christians to give? As Christians, we give because we are believers and imitators of God (Eph. 5:1). We are enjoined by God to give because it is the seed that generates our harvest and allows God to bestow us with divine blessings and increase. If you give nothing, God multiplies nothing (Gen 8:22). God cannot bless a closed fist or a heart where love is in short supply.
