A Life Of Thanksgiving

“The Lord shall fight for you and ye shall hold your peace” (Exodus 14:14 KJV)

Reference text:  Luke 17:11-19

The highest form of gratitude is expressed through praise. This is why William James, one of America’s frontline, top-notched psychologists remarked that ‘the desire to be appreciated is one of the greatest drives of a human being”. Ingratitude is an act of wickedness that must not be tolerated in the life of a Christian. On the other hand, feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like “wrapping a present and not giving it”

Praise is a key that unlocks heaven’s gate. When the praise goes up, the blessings come down. Praise is an indispensible kingdom principle that leads to comprehensive wholeness. Don’t ignore or disdain God’s daily blessings of provisions, protection, blessing, love and mercies on your life! Give Him the praise for your daily blessings, whether they are at the infinitesimal or colossal scale. Out of the ten lepers that the Lord healed, only the Samaritan came back to say “thank you, Lord”.

Consequently, he was made whole and he got a double portion blessing! The other nine Jewish lepers were physically cleansed and healed but they were not made whole! (3 John 2) because they refused to recognize and appreciate Christ after they received their miracles. In your daily situations and circumstances, learn to say “Thank You Lord”.

Ways to thank the Lord.

  1. Cultivate an appreciative heart towards the Lord. Thank Him for the seemingly insignificant, little blessings, and significant blessings enshrined in the daily routine of living
  2. Cultivate an attitude of worship in your relationship with the Lord.
  3. Praise God, even in your lifestyle.
  4. In and outside your prayer closet, learn to dance, like David before the Lord for His daily benefits (Psalm 103:1-22). Demons hate praise and worship. It repels them!
  5. Thanksgiving is a major catalyst for breakthrough, especially when you are dealing with any wall(s) of Jericho that the enemy may have erected in any area of your life.
  6. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord, for God inhabit the praise of His people.
  7. After all, if you count your blessings one by one, you will discover that there are a million and one reasons to say “Thank you Jesus” every second,  every minute and every hour of any single day.
