In economic parlance whenever there is a demand, there will always be a corresponding supply. The demand always provokes the total aggregate of supply. There cannot be a supply except there is a demand! This economic law also applies to spiritual matters. You cannot get anything from God except you are desperate for God! The kingdom of heaven suffers violence and only the violent can take it by force! Whatever is your need, lay a demand on the anointing of the Lord and watch the Lord intervene in that situation on your behalf.

It was Dr. Myles Munroe, an eminent Christian writer who said: “The greatest tragedy in life is not death but life without purpose”. Are you just existing, going with the flow and dragging on with the same old sequence of things by living your life on survival mode? A life motivated by an ordinary passion to live is no life.  Do you right now feel that life is such a drag? It does not have to be so. There is more to life than mere existence.

There are people who come to church because it is the most fashionable, social or religious thing to do on a Sunday morning. While the Word is been preached, the devil steals it away from their hearts before their spirits reach the point where the Word can be digested and utilized. Lacking spiritual understanding, the brethren may remain tied to the same spot spiritually. Eventually, he will wither and die for lack of spiritual nutrition.

In our reference scripture, Peninnah, Hannah’s rival-wife taunted and jeered her because of her bareness which was caused by God in order to glorify His name. For Hannah, it was a totally hopeless situation, considering her many previous fruitless visits to Shiloh. To make matters worse, her adversary, Peninnah, provoked her grievously to aggravate her anguish and sorrow.

Hannah’s barrenness had by now become a source of huge discomfort and social stigma to her. Barrenness can be physical, mental,financial, marital and spiritual. It is the lack of fruitfulness and productivity in one’s life, or in any aspect of one’s life. It can also be frustrating, especially after you have done all you think you can do.
